Honesty is used for alot of things. For one it could be used for people not thinking of you as a liar. when someone is in a situation the best thnig to do is tell the truth. Not being honest with others can is sometimes not a good thing becuase they are the type of people that want to hear others opions without reacting to it badly. I am a person that tells you the truth whether you want to hear it or not.
When I tell the truth 9 times out of 10 it is when someone smells bad. If someone smells bad they want to ask the people aroud them if they stink or not. When I tell them they do smell their feelings get hurt. I always apologize but in the back of my mind I always say it is always good to know the truth then having them being teased about for the rest of their lives. That just goes to show you that the more honestyou are the farther you can go in life.
Another example of why honesty is the best policy is because it keeps you out of trouble. That is why alot of crinimals turn up in jail today for lying to the authority. You would have thought after all of the crime shows when you see cops pull over guilty suspects that the suspects would learn to tell to be truthful about whatever the situation is. It could be over the littlest thing like if the driver wasn't wearing a seatbelt. Then the officer could say is their anything in the vehicle I should know about. Next thing you know the driver and whoever else is in the car takes off running.
When honesty shouldn't be used is when your lying but you know your going to get away with it. Some people say that you can't get away with lying. But as you can see only the smart ones got away with it for all of their lives. People lie every day even if they know they did it or not. If somebody is that desperate to get a job do you think for the only chance they get they would lie on the job application. Students even cheat on tests in school just to get a passing grade. Their life could be built on all lies but that won't stop from being even more successflu than they already are.
Another example of when honesty is not the best policy is when you don't tell the truth just to get your way. That proccess can be used when you as a child are getting spoiled by your parent(s). If you grow up as an only child if your parents care alot about their child then that child can get spoiled. As the child becomes more mature and grows to be a teenager they start to lie about who they hang out with and where they go. Not being honest to your mother and father can turn back on you in a matter of years when you become an adult. From there you are on your own and you want have your parents to lie to and push around for the rest of your days. Because those parents are finally going to realize that they can't trust you anymore.
